In Walt Disney's 1954 film 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Captain Nemo roamed the
sea in the Nautilus in search of ships of war. Struggling against his inner
conflict between good and evil, Nemo hunted and destroyed ships laden with
ammunitions, which he knew would be used against his fellow man. In this noble
but misguided desire to rid man of the tools of war, a badly wounded Captain and
his incredible submarine vanished beneath the waves, apparently claimed by the
very sea he loved.
